Parks Operations has begun spring clean-up along city boulevards.
Most of the snow along city streets and boulevards has melted, revealing litter and waste built up during the winter. Parks Operations staff have begun picking up the debris as part of their annual spring clean-up program.
Crews started on the boulevards on the City’s west side on Monday, beginning at Wapiti Road and heading west towards 116 Ave.
The program will go into full effect when Seasonal Staff begin in May. Parks will be tracking the weight of litter and waste crews picked up and will provide updates as the City progresses through the annual clean up.
The annual City Scrub program will be held from May 6 to May 15. Every year schools, businesses, residents and community groups volunteer their time to pick up garbage in and around the city.
Supplies can be picked up for free at the following locations:
• Aquatera’s Customer Billing
• Burger King
• City Hall
• City Service Centre
• East Link Centre
